Seiler Model 170 (5'7) Grand Piano
Seiler Pianofortefabrik was established the year 1849 in by Eduard Seiler. His pianos quickly earned many awards and gained the reputation of being excellent instruments. In 1923, Anton Seiler-Dütz expanded the company to be the largest piano manufacturer in East Germany. After WWII, the company was eventually moved to Kitzingen, Germany where it resides today. In 2008, it was purchased by Samick. Today, Samick continues production of Seiler Pianos in Germany(SE models) but also builds more cost effective clones from Indonesia marked ED in limited models. Introduced in 2013 is the Johannes Seiler series (GS models) with new design and scale meant as entry level Seiler pianos manufactured in Indonesia.
This Seiler ED132 is a towering 52" upright with a tone more akin to a large grand than an upright. It features top of the line materials like ABEL hammers from Germany and solid Austrian White Spruce for the soundboard. The scale and design is identical to the German built SE132 but it's offered at a more affordable price.
The condition of this piano is immaculate. The hammers and felt are clean and show no signs of wear. A new ED132 cost $17,000. This "Like New" 2017 model is going for only $7,499 (incl. tuning, delivery, etc.).
