Petrof was founded the year 1864 in the city of Hradec Králové, Kingdom of Bohemia (modern day Czech Republic) by Antonín Petrof, an apprentice of several Viennese piano manufacturers of high repute. Petrof's pianos quickly became famous for their exceptional quality and performance, eventually being awarded an imperial and royal warrant of appointment to the court of Austria-Hungary. Today they have beome the largest piano manufacturer in Europe trading in 5 continents and exporting to over 65 countries around the world. The company is owned and operated by 5th and 6th generation members of the Petrof family.
The tone of this Petrof P131 IC is a fine example of the Petrof character. Soft, gentle, rounded, and romantic. The touch is neither too heavy or light, and the action is fluid and responsive. This piano is made of the highest quality materials like Renner hammers and Röslau strings from Germany
This piano features a special CIRESA Spruce soundboard from the Val di Fiemme in Trentino province, Italy. The same place that Antonio Stradivari sourced tonewood for his legendary violins. These soundboards are found on some of the most expensive pianos in the world like Faziolis, Bechsteins, and Bluthners.
This 2002 pre-owned model is in excellent condition. The hammers and felt are clean and show no signs of wear. The strings and tuning pins are free of rust. The elegant cabinet design features gold accents and an extra large music desk.
