Hailun HU7P (52") - Professional Series
As the flagship model of the Professional Series, the 52.4" Hailun HU7P is the epitome of Hailun's years of advanced R&D, design, and craftsmanship. It features the longest overall bass strings, giving it an unrivalled depth of power and sustain amongst verticals. It was designed with the professional pianist in mind, with premium features and materials that enhance both the playing experience and durability of the piano. The Hailun HU7P should be considered as a serious alternative to a grand piano - for those unwilling to compromise on the quality of tone or touch.
Advanced Scale Design
The scale of the Hailun HU7P was developed by world-renowned piano designer George F. Emerson the former Director of Piano Research and Development at the Baldwin Piano Company. He has also designed pianos for prestigious manufacturers like Steinway & Sons and Mason & Hamlin. The strategic design of the string tension and placement of the bridges in conjuction with the soundboard lay the core foundation of the tone.
Duplex Scale
The Hailun HU7P incorporates Duplex Scale from Hailun's award-winning grand pianos into its design. In normal pianos the non-speaking length of strings behind the bridge are muted with felt to avoid unwanted resonances, Duplex Scale on the other hand acts like a secondary bridge and makes them ring out at a complimenting pitch. This adds extra richness and sparkle to the tenor- treble tone. Duplex Scale is normally only found on high-end grand pianos - but it comes standard on all Hailun Professional Series models 50" and up!
Performance Plus™ Action
The Hailun HU7P is equipped with Hailun's Performance Plus™ action made of European hornbeam. European hornbeam is famous for its density and toughness, in fact, it is the hardest wood found in Europe. Hailun's designers have engineered the touch to be highly responsive and fluid throughout the entire keyboard. This allows for a wide range of dynamics and musical expression.
Keybed
The Hailun HU7P's natural keys are made of Spruce with Red Beech shoes, buttons, and dowel capstans. They are individually weighted and balanced for a great feel and precise touch. An interesting feature is the genuine Ebony wood sharps which have a naturally non-slip texture.
Exclusive PAS Keyboard
Professional pianists are sensitive to such minor shifts and can sometimes detect them. Over time it is also possible for the wood to shift its form and cause a permanent change in the action. To ensure that the many combined parts that make up the action of an upright piano maintain a stable platform, Hailun Piano Company invented the Permanent-Action-Stability Keybed System (PAS). This unique aluminum keybed structure provides a rigid foundation for the action that is impervious to external influences.
Soundboard
The Hailun HU7P's soundboard and ribs are made of premium solid Mountain Spruce which is famous for its desirable acoustic properties. The addition of their proprietary 15-degree spruce meniscus coating ensures climatic resistance and permanent soundboard "crown". 2 large cutoff bars on the back of the soundboard effectively shape the soundboard to be like that of a grand pianos.
Bridges
To ensure maximum sound transference, hand-notched solid maple is used for both the bass and treble bridges. The bass bridge is cantilevered to maximize string speaking length and to place the contact point on a more acoustically flexible area of the soundboard to increase resonance.
Premium Hammers
Mass-produced hammers are pressed into shape with high heat. This destroys the natural structure and elasticity of the wool and often leads to premature hammer wear and a harsh tone. In view of this, the Hailun HU7P is equipped with custom German-made ABEL® double-felted hammers fitted with the highest grade cold-pressed FFW® Würzen felt for durability, rich tone, and a wide range of harmonics. Mahogany is the wood of choice for the hammer moldings rather than common Maple.
Strings
The Hailun HU7P uses Röslau steel strings from Germany. Röslau strings have an excellent reputation for quality, durability, and longevity. They are found on some of the world's finest pianos.
Grand Piano Agraffes
Instead of pins driven into the iron plate, the Hailun HU7P utilizes agraffes in the bass region to precisely regulate the spacing and angle of the strings. This premium feature is normally reserved for grand pianos but comes standard on all Hailun Professional Series pianos.
Copper-Steel Capo Rod
Another Hailun innovation is the installation of a copper-steel rod on top of the capo bar. This ensures a cleaner and more precise string termination point for better clarity in the treble. Just like high-end pianos it also features an extra thick steel pressure bar.
Pinblock
The Hailun HU5P features a 17-layer pinblock made of hardwood maple. These many layers of rigid hardwood "grip" the tuning pins better than normal pinblocks. Combined with 4 sturdy backpost, this helps the piano stay in tune longer.
Wet Sand Cast Plate
The cast iron plate (also known as the frame or harp) of a piano must withstand approx. 40,000 lbs of tension from the strings. As such it must be exceptionally dense and strong. The plate of the Hailun HU7P is made in the traditional slow wet-sand-cast method. This takes more time and resources than a standard mass-produced plate but the results are significantly denser and more durable. This same method is used by Steinway, Bosendorfer, and other luxury piano makers.
Construction
The Hailun HU7P is one of the heaviest and sturdiest upright pianos in the market. All beams and crossbars are made extra thick to ensure the piano is as durable as possible. The Hailun HU7P also features 6 massive backpost for increased tuning stability.
Cabinet
The grand piano style cabinet features a 2-piece lid, soft-close fallboard, and a extra large fold-out music desk to accommodate more music and books. The double solid brass casters make repositioning the piano a breeze.
