The PETROF Piano Company was founded the year 1864 in the city of Hradec Králové, Kingdom of Bohemia (modern day Czech Republic) by Antonín Petrof, an apprentice of several Viennese piano manufacturers of high repute. Petrof's pianos quickly became renowned for their exceptional quality and performance, eventually being awarded an imperial and royal warrant of appointment to the court of Austria-Hungary. Today they have become the largest piano manufacturer in Europe trading in 5 continents and exporting to over 65 countries around the world. The company is owned and operated by 5th and 6th generation members of the Petrof family.
