SOLID SPRUCE SOUNDBOARD & RIBS

The Yamaha U30A has a soundboard made
of premium solid Spruce that has been carefully
milled and prepared for optimal tonal resonance.

DOUBLE-FELTED MAPLE HAMMERS

Maple is one of the best woods for hammer mouldings because
of its high strength to weight ratio. Special T-fasteners preserve the
hammers shape and the additional layer of inner felt adds extra
durability to the hammer.

SPRUCE BACK POST

The Yamaha U3 is equipped with sturdy back post made of Spruce wood.
They provide extra durability, resonance, and tuning stability.

NICKEL PLATED TUNING PINS

Nickel plating adds both resistance to corrosion and elegant aesthetics.
Found on all high quality upright pianos.

POWERFUL TONE

The U30A's 52" height lends itself well to those looking for a grand pianos sound but
without its large footprint. The extra long length of the strings and the large
soundboard area insures that you will never lack tone projection or volume

YAMAHA U30A VS U3?

While both the U30A and the U3 are high quality 52" uprights, the U30A being a premium model was made with more factory prep time and higher quality materials. Many say its tone is slightly warmer than than the U3. Variations in the cabinet design can also be observed. When bought new the U30A was up to 30% more expensive than a standard U3, It also has features that the U3 does not have such as:
