The Yamaha Music Corporation was established in 1887 by reed organ maker Torakusu Yamaha in the city of Hamamatsu, Japan. Since then they have become the largest and arguably the most famous manufacturer of musical instruments in the world. They have and continue to produce some of the most sought after acoustic and digital pianos in the industry.
Yamaha's U1 model was introduced over 60 years ago in the 1960's and has stayed in production to this day! A true testament to its impeccable quality, performance, and reliability.
This particular example is in pristine condition. The hammers and felt are clean and show no signs of wear. The action is fluid and responsive. The treble has nice clarity without being overly bright and the bass-tenor is rich and warm. The cabinet is finished in beautiful polished ebony black and is in excellent condition.
