Seiler Pianofortefabrik was established the year 1849 in by Eduard Seiler. His pianos quickly earned many awards and gained the reputation of being excellent instruments. In 1923, Anton Seiler-Dütz expanded the company to be the largest piano manufacturer in East Germany. After WWII, the company was eventually moved to Kitzingen, Germany where it resides today. In 2008, it was purchased by Samick. Today, Samick continues production of Seiler Pianos in Germany(SE models) but also builds more cost effective clones from Indonesia marked ED in limited models. Introduced in 2013 is the Johannes Seiler series (GS models) with new design and scale meant as entry level Seiler pianos manufactured in Indonesia.

This Seiler 170 is one of the original grand pianos made in the Liegnitz, Silesia factory. It has a rich and warm European tone and the trademark "clear" treble that distinguishes Seiler pianos from others. It has been fully reconditioned and is in wonderful playing condition for its age.

A brand new Seiler of comparable quality today cost over $100,000. This is simply an amazing deal at $11,999 (incl. tuning, delivery, etc.)
